I have always had a predilection for art, and frequently invest in self-directed studies to further develop my artistic abilities, which range from drawing to digital media, oil, and acrylic paints. Most recently I've taken this passion out onto the Edmonton mural scene. My pieces endeavour to bridge the gap between the viewer and the painting. With bright and lively colours I create life-like images filled with details.

About the artist
Edmonton based contemporary artist, Cyrena Sitter, was born with a pencil in her hand and ambition to excel. She originally filled pages with countless graphite images. Focusing on the human form with a mixed media flair in monochromic ink. Harsh shadows and anatomy were endlessly fascinating and worked into every piece. Moving her pencil work from paper to tablet; the digital space provided a place to test colour and lighting with reckless abandon.
All of this culminated into bold and vivid oil/acrylic paintings and murals. Her talent and range give her artistic freedom to transfer all of her previous practice into these new mediums with relative ease. Cyrena's figures capture movement naturally while her colour choices are surreal and delicate. Exploring the boundaries of contrast in every sense of the canvas.
